Juniper will introduce a host of products based on its Junos software platform and high-end MX-3D series routers. Cisco will introduce the ASR5000, formerly the Starent ST40 mobile core chassis, and according to the company, will be the first IP next-generation-network (NGN) solution to help customers better manage mobile internet traffic and applications. Earlier this week, Cisco released the results of their Visual Networking Index Global Mobile Data Forecast which showed that mobile data traffic increased 160% in the past year and is growing 2.4 times faster than fixed broadband data traffic. With growth like this, these types of solutions will be essential to help service providers manage the explosive data on their networks.
